Racing Action at Luxemburg Speedway
The evenings feature event saw 16 Legends
take the green.
Lap 1 saw trouble for Tom Fraser (48), Dave Fraser (7) & Eric Barth
(21), when the three got tangled up coming to the green. Barth & T. Fraser
ended up on the hook finishing their night. The restart saw Phil VanTatenhove
(61) jump to the lead followed by Kevin Brill (92), Brian Peterson (12) ,
Joe Johnson (22) and Mike Mueller (2).
Lap 6 saw Brill make a pass on the inside of VanTatenhove to take the lead,
which he never relinquished. Continuing action saw Greg Hartlaub (76)
& Jeff Steenbergen (62) methodically using the bottom to work their way
forward. Lap 9 saw Hartlaub move up into 4th. At the half-way point it was
Brill, Peterson, VanTatenhove, Hartlaub, Mueller, Steenbergen and Johnson. From
this point on constant pressure was applied to Peterson from Hartlaub for 2nd.
With 3 laps to go there was heavy smoke seen from Johnson (22). The finish saw
Brill take his first win of the season, with Peterson holding onto 2nd, followed
by Hartlaub, Steenbergen, VanTatenhove to round out the top five.
