A field of 34
World of Outlaw Sprint cars were joined by a full field of
INEX Legend cars Saturday night at Charter Raceway Park and
put on a fantastic show for the huge crowd that was in
attendance.
The INEX Legend feature event started off with Jeff
Steenbergen leading lap number one all the way up from his
sixth starting position. However, the lead was short-lived
as Tom Fraser took back the lead on lap number two. Joe
Johnson came to a halt in turn two before the field could
complete lap three bringing out the first of two cautions in
the event. Following the restart, Eric Barth patiently
worked his way up through traffic and took the lead for good
on lap nine as he took the inside line past Steenbergen.
Joel Wyttenbach, also worked past Steenbergen and was
running second as the field hit the halfway mark on lap 10.
Wyttenbach had a flat tire five laps later coming to a halt
on the inside portion of the racetrack bringing out the
yellow and setting up a 5 lap shootout between Barth, Weber
and Steenbergen. Barth was able to open up a bit of room
between him and Weber on the restart and never looked back.
Weber finished second and Steenbergen third.
