With the storms moving in, Eric Barth of Sauk City wasted little time moving to the front as he charged from his outside fourth row starting position to take the lead on lap three. Barth, showing the form that has earned him the Masters National Championship the past two years, then powered away building up an impressive lead while the rest of the field diced for position. Phil Van Tatenhove of Sheboygan Falls continued to run strong in second, but received pressure from a pack of cars that were engaged in a fierce battle. Brad Weber of Rolling Prairie, Joey Johnson of Slinger and Warren Ropp of Kalona, IA were joined by Joel Wyttenbach of Sauk City and Adam Reed of Beaver Dam. With Barth cruising out in front, the pack behind were changing positions lap after lap. Unfortunately during a caution on lap twelve, the rain began to fall more heavily and brought an end to the event. With the race past the halfway point, Barth claimed his second win of the season. Phil Van Tatenhove, who led the first two laps of the event, finished second. Joey Johnson followed in third ahead of Warren Ropp. Brad Weber drove to fifth.

In the first heat, Phil Van Tatenhove held off Eric Barth to score the win. Joey Johnson edged out Warren Ropp to capture the second heat.
