WISCONSIN DRIVERS WIN BIG MONEY 
AT NATIONAL BANQUET!!

On January 16th  three Wisconsin and one Iowa driver attended the US Legends International banquet held at the Speedway club in Lowes Motor Speedway.

 

 

Mike & Carolyn Mueller, Kevin & Sue Schutz, and Eric & Joan Barth were all in attendance to represent Wisconsin. Also Mike's daughter September made the 3 hour drive to see her dad receive his awards. From Iowa BJ Bates made the long drive from Iowa with mom and dad to receive his award. 

 

 

The evening started with major announcements by SMI Vice President of Business Affairs Don Hawk. He revealed that the 2010 points fund will be $200,000.00 and that INEX will pay out to 10 times more drivers this season. It was also revealed that a Million Dollar race will be announced this Wed. Video clips of both of these announcements can be seen on 600 racings web site under On the Pole.

Then it was on to the awards. Many drivers were in attendance from the US and Canada. 

 

 

 

BJ received the Iowa Dirt Young Lions State Champion Award. 
He also received 4th place in the Young Lions National Award.

Mike received the Wisconsin Dirt Semi-Pro State Champion award.  
He also won the National Dirt Semi-Pro award. 
For winning the National award Mike was presented a beautiful trophy along with a great looking helmet and a gift certificate for parts.

 

 

 

 

Eric received the Wisconsin Dirt Master State Champion award.  
He also won the National Dirt Master award. 

In the big surprise of the night Eric was also awarded the Bilstein Madonna award for racing excellence. This prestigious award is only given to one Legends driver each year.
The Madonna award is also given in other racing venues. Past recipients of this award have been Darrell Waltrip, Rusty Wallace and Dale Ernhardt Sr. 
Eric was quite surprised and honored to receive this award. 

 

 

 

The evening was great. The food, the facilities, the awards, and being in the company of all the other drivers and their families was a great experience!
